Welcome to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School!
We are nestled in the beautiful Wilmington Island community, just minutes away from historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. Our school community began in 1961 to service the mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Savannah. In 2015 we will celebrate our 35th year on our Wilmington Island Campus. Our beautiful ten acre campus includes a Lower School, Middle School, two gymnasiums, football field, practice field, and a state of the art playground completed in 2015. We offer full day faith-based instruction for students from three years old through 8th grade in small class sizes. We would like to share with you, the state of our school now and our future plans:
Safety:
- The safety of our students is always our first Priority. Our ten acre campus is gated and our buildings are equipped with a swipe key security system that includes video monitoring. Our brand new phone system was installed during the 2014/15 School year.

Technology:
- The Technological infrastructure of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School was rebuilt in 2010 to support our growing technology program for years to come.
- We have a computer lab, server room, tablet cart (Computers on Wheels) and faculty computers & smart boards in every classroom. Our IT Director keeps our systems up to date and running smoothly.
Campus Space:
- Our class sizes are small, ensuring that each student thrives in their learning environment.
- Our entire HVAC system was replaced in 2009.
- Our school has individual offices for: Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, Secretary, Office Manager, Clinic, Counselor, Information Technology Director, and Resource Teachers.
- We have a full gymnasium, parish center, separate cafeteria and three conference rooms for meetings of all sizes.
- Our brand new, state of the art playground will see it’s fourth and final phase completed in 2015..
- We have appropriate space for all of our program offerings. Science lab, Robotics Room, Computer Lab, Art Room, Resource room, Spanish and Music Room, Library, and Early Bird/Extended day classroom.
- 2014 saw the addition of our PreK-3 program! PreK-3 and PreK-4 have their own classrooms as do all other grades.
Future Plans:
- In 2014, we began offering a new 7th grade advanced life science and advanced math courses, and for 8th grade advanced physical science and algebra. Students are tested to be placed into these courses.
- In January 2015 the new Computer Technology Club using the Corel Video Studio program will be inaugurated. The club will enable students to create slideshows, short films, stop motion animation, and other creative projects, and further help them develop their writing skills as they come up with ideas for their projects.
- In the 2015-2016 school year, there will be an exchange program with the Instituto de Educacion Activa Catholic School in Valencia, Venezuela. This will be an excellent opportunity for growth and an awareness of cultural diversity for our students.
- Beginning in 2015, there will be a tuition cap where if families have more than three students enrolled in our school, their tuition will be the family maximum of three students.
- The renovation of our Gymnasium is on the agenda for the next school year.
