Confirmation Meeting

2015 CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES GUIDELINES
The Sacrament of Confirmation is regarded as the perfection of Baptism. This Sacrament confers special graces of the Holy Spirit upon the person being confirmed, just as such graces were granted to the Apostles on Pentecost. Confirmation increases and deepens all of the graces granted at Baptism. What we at St. Peter the Apostle ask of our candidates: attendance of Religious Education classes (Diocesan guidelines require at least two years before a Sacrament), attendance of four sessions held on Sunday evenings from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. (mandatory for ALL students receiving the
sacrament-see dates below), attend any retreats held for Confirmation, 25 hours of community service – works of mercy, and choosing a sponsor.
The date for Confirmation here at St. Peter the Apostle Parish is Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
Confirmation Boot Camp dates and topics are as follows:
August 9th: The journey begins/Along the road. Mass at 5:00 p.m. and parents are asked to attend.
August 16th: The invitation/In the breaking of bread
August 23rd: I believe/The gifts of the Spirit
August 30th: More than words/Our hearts burning
