Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Together we Pray.

Prayer is one of the cornerstones of our Catholic faith and students at St. Peter the Apostle are taught the virtue of prayer on a daily basis. The school day begins and ends with prayer and students are given many other opportunities throughout the day to pray.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Prayer Before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts which we are about to receive from your bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer After Meals

We give you thanks, O almighty God, for all your benefits, who live and reign now and forever. Amen.

Act of Contrition/Prayer of Sorrow

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battel; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

O God, hear our prayer and let our cry come unto You.
Bless our Diocese of Savannah with many vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life.
Give the men and women You call the light to understand Your gift and the love to follow always in the footsteps of Your priestly Son.
Amen.
