Mrs. Wynter Kelly
Mrs. Wynter Kelly has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of West Georgia and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame. She holds Georgia State Certification in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Kelly has 29 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher, tutor, coach, and athletic director. She has been the dean of students in California, Rhode Island, and Georgia. Mrs. Kelly came to SPA from the offices of the Diocese of Savannah where she was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Catholic Schools. Mrs. Kelly is the mother of five children, including one who attends St. Vincent’s Academy and one at St. Peter the Apostle School. She and her family are members of our parish and residents of Wilmington Island.

Mrs. Helena Russell
Director of Admissions/Art Teacher
Mrs. Helena Russell has a Bachelor of Science in Education/Art Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She has been teaching at SPA for 23 years and has been the Curriculum Director for 10 years Mrs. Russell sits on the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Implementation Team and the Ace Collaborative Team for the Social Studies curriculum both for the Diocese of Savannah.  Mrs. Russell has a daughter, Maddie and a son, Noah. Mrs. Russell loves the beach, reading, movies, music, photography, and painting. And, for the record, she is a HUGE Elvis fan!

Mrs. Shandra Peecksen
School Administrative Assistant/Health Office
Mrs. Shandra Peecksen and her family have been members of St. Peter the Apostle School for over twenty years. She and her husband John have 3 daughters, Taylor, Katherine and Caroline who enjoyed being students at SPA. Mrs. Peecksen started as a paraprofessional in 2005 with Mrs. Seginack in Pre-K. She is finishing her BA in Sociology with minors in Education and History from The University of Louisville. Mrs. Peecksen is happy to be Together again with her St. Peter’s family.

Mr. Sean Sherwood
 Athletic Director/PE Teacher
Mr. Sherwood obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.  He worked for Western Kentucky University for eleven years, eight years as the Intramural Coordinator and was the Assistant Director of Programs for three years.  He has overseen intramural programs, sport clubs, outdoor adventure trips, challenge course programs and facilities, youth summer day camps, and a sports complex.  At WKU, Mr. Sherwood taught University Experience for five years and Disc Golf for three.  He was also a Kentucky High School football and basketball official.  Mr. Sherwood is married to Margaret and they have three boys who all attend St. Peter the Apostle School.  On his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his family.

Mrs. Ana Portman
Communication Coordinator
Mrs. Portman has 20 years of experience in education, 18 of at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic School. Mrs. Portman majored in Music and Voice at M. Frances Jenny School of Music. She is the Director of St. Peter’s Youth Choir and currently teaches Spanish and Music to students from PreK through 8th grade. Mrs. Portman is married and the proud mother of two sons, both of whom are graduates of SPA, and can often be heard playing piano at our 9:00am Mass on Sundays.  Her hobbies include gardening, cooking and baking.

Mrs. Kait Terry
Extended Day Program Director
As an SPA alumnae herself and a mother of two boys currently enrolled at the school, Kait Terry is honored to serve as the Directory of the Extended Day Program.  She has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University and serves as the Vice President of the Savannah-based company, Fitzgerald Forwarding, Inc. She is married to husband Brandon Terry.  In her free time, she enjoys coaching the 5th & 6th Grade Girls Volleyball teams.  Kait loves spending time with her family and friends, and is partial to a good book and uses creativity in all that she does.
