Volunteer Guidelines and Information
- General Guidelines
- All VOLUNTEERS: The diocese requires all volunteers working with our children attend the VIRTUS training. Contact Lisa Jones at 897-5224 to sign up for the next class.
- Remember to sign in at the office and receive a pass. (This is important for both security and emergency procedures).
- Please do not bring younger siblings unless approved.
- If you are unable to come for your assigned time, please discuss an alternate time with your teacher or try to find a replacement for yourself. If this is a last minute situation, please call the school and let them know you will be unable to come. Call me if you need help in finding a replacement.
- If you accidentally miss your assigned time, please call the teacher and work out a make-up time if needed.
- If you are no longer able to continue with this program (new job, new baby, etc.), please call me so we will be aware a replacement is needed.
- Please respect the privacy of our children. All test or homework results and information about our students should be kept confidential.
- Please familiarize yourself with the emergency exits found in each classroom, and if needed, review the emergency procedures manual found in the office.
- Please adhere to school policies which can be found in your parent handbook.
- Please wear clothing appropriate to a Catholic learning environment.
- Lunchroom/Recess (Class Helper)
- Please help monitor the students in your shift during lunch, straighten chairs, and wipe tables as needed, then follow your shift of students to the playground.
- Please help all classes in your shift during lunch (not just your child's class).
- Please remain with your shift of students on the playground or if needed, the teachers will assign an area for you to monitor. Our volunteers need to be dispersed around the playground and not all in one group.
- The teachers will be on the playground as well. Please refer any problem students, questions or concerns to them.
