Student Highlights
2010-11 Remarkable Rams:
- May 9, 2011: Posted on www.wtoc.com - May 9, 2011 The entire student body at St. Peter the Apostle School is hosting their own Relay for Life event. Each class picked a time and hit the pavement for one lap and then all of the students walked the final "survivors lap". O'Brien Field was surrounded with banners and posters that students created in honor of loved ones.
- May 1, 2011 - Students begin Novena to Blessed John Paul for all of our special mothers at Saint Peter the Apostle who are, or have been, fighting serious illness.
- April 20, 2011 - Students create and donate over 70 Angel Boxes for "Friends of Forsyth Park"
- April 18, 2011 - Students donate over 500 flowering plants for upper school in honor of Earth Day 2011.
- April 2, 2011 - Two St. Peter's 7th Graders placed Third in their respective categories at the 2011 Georgia Science and Engineering Fair held at the Athens Classic Center March 31-April 2.
- Raina MacLeod - 3rd place - Project Title “Do Programmable Thermostats Save Electrical Energy and Money?” - Engineering: Electrical and Mechanical Category
- Nate Hickey - 3rd place - Project Title “Does the Tee Height affect the Drive Distance?” - Physics and Astronomy Category
- March 14, 2011 - The St. Peter's Math Team will compete in their first Competition at BSS 8:30 am, Monday, March 14th! Good Luck Mathletes!
- February 12, 2011 - The St. Peter the Apostle Odyssey of the Mind team led by Mrs. Sallie Boyles competes at Southwest Middle School on Sat. February 12, 2011. Great Job Rams!
- February 3, 2011: SPA celebrated Catholic Schools Week by giving back to the community through their annual SOCCKS Program (Serving Our Community Catholic Kids Style). WTOC and WSAV news teams featured SPA on last night's local news. If you missed it, check it out on the links below. Please, pass this along to all your SPA friends and family.

- February 2, 2011 - On the afternoon of February 2nd, St. Peter the Apostle inducted 17 students into the National Junior Honor Society.
- January 31, 2011: Congratulations to the K of C Islands Council 2011 Free Throw Champions: 10 year olds Will D. & Megan V., 11 year olds Cooper M. & Addie B., 12 year olds Garrett D.& Mary Catherine T., 13 year olds John S. & Katie B. and 14 year old Ari A.. Winners shoot in the District Championship on Feb 27th for a chance to travel to Atlanta and shoot for the state title in Philips Arena.

- December 16, 2010 - Way to go Elizabeth Miller and Ari Anderson! Congratulations to our St. Peter's Savannah Optimist Club Oratorical Contest winners! You all did a lovely job!
- December 10, 2010 - Congratulations to our 5th grade girls who won 2nd place and the 6th grade boys who placed 3rd in the BSS Tommy Butler Tournament.
- December 6, 2010 - Will Bradley wins "Best of Fair" at The St. Peter the Apostle Science Fair.
- November 4, 2010 - St. Peter's Varsity Football completed an undefeated season, and secured the SPAL championship!
- October 28, 2010 - Both the girls and boys SPA Cross Country teams placed First at the SAS meet, Thursday, October 28th.
- October 21, 2010 - Congratulations to the Varsity Rams on winning the S.P.A.L.Volleyball Championship!
2009-10 Remarkable Rams:
- St. Peter's 7th grader Maddie L., competed May 1st in the Optimist Club Oratorical State Competition. She won 1st place in the Girls Division! She received a plaque and a $2500 college scholarship. She did a fantastic job and we are so proud of her.
- The 16th March of Dimes 5K Shamrock Run & Fitness Walk was held on Friday, March 12, 2010. Saint Peter the Apostle school had several participants, both students and teachers alike. We would like to recognize our teachers Stacie Paul, Christa Nathe and Megan McGreevy. Ms. McGreevy finished the race in 20:30 and came in second for females in her age group. Didn't we tell you students that the "Teachers Rule"!

Reminder that Susan Kohman Race for the Cure is being run on April 17th! Go Rams! - Since 1972, councils have sponsored the Knights of Columbus International Free Throw Championship for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 14. The championship is set up to have the contestants compete within their own gender and age group. All competition starts at the local level. Winners move on to the district, regional, and state levels.
This year Saint Peter the Apostle sent five students to compete at the State Level:
Anna P. - 5th grader/ Girls 10U. She made 8 out of 25 baskets.
Drew T. - 5th grade/ Boys 10u. He made 19 of 25 baskets and took 4th in the State for his age group.
Madison P. - 6th grade/ Girls 11U. She made 12 of 25 baskets.
John S. - 7th grade Boys/ 12U. He made 14 of 25 baskets and placed 4th in the State for his age division.
Stevie P. - 7th grade Boys/ 13U. Stevie made 19 of 25 baskets and WON first place for the second year in a row. State Champion! - At the Savannah Ogeechee Regional Science & Engineering Fair February 9-11, Joshua J. won first place in the category of Electrical amd Mechanical Engineering, and Thomas S., took second place in the Medical and Health Sciences Category.
- Colin C. received 2nd place in the boys 9 & under division of theCritz/Tybee 5k run on 2-6-2010. Way to go Colin!
- Maddie L. won first place at the Southside Optimist Competition on Feb. 6 and will continue on to the next division!
- Twelve seventh and eighth graders participated in our annual oratorical competition. Ari A. and Maddie L. won first place, and they will represent St. Peter's at the Southside Optimist Competition on Feb. 6.
- SPA second grader, Sadie G. won 1st place in her age group in the Savannah Bridge Run on Dec. 5th with a time of 26:07 for the 5K!
- After 5 rounds of competition, seventh grader, Jack M. won the National Geographic School Level Geography Bee. Jack will take a written test to determine if he will advance to the state geography bee in March.
