Main Dates:
March 20-money due for book ($3.00-price of blank book)
April 23-Handwritten Rough Draft due
May 7-Final Book due (Typed)
Topic: The Civil War
Students will be writing a story pretending that they are living during the time period of the Civil War. They should combine facts from the time period along with fictional information for their story. This can be done individually or with a partner. They will mainly be graded on the content of their book, but points will be taken off for grammatical errors, so proofread!!
The final book should include illustrations (drawn or computer generated), and the typed story can be put onto the pages in the book using double sided tape. A title page will need to be included on the front cover of the book. The back of the book can include a small summary about their story or information about the “author.”
Preview Chapters 14 and 15 in the SS book for ideas. Include a famous quote from the war somewhere in the story.
The last page of the book will be a resource page, and they must have a minimum of 2 resources.
